Kindergarten- Colorful Turkeys

Materials:

  • colorful tissue paper squares
  • 1/2 of a thin white paper plate
  • googly eyes
  • brown construction paper
  • orange construction paper
  • red construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue

**Have the body, beak, feet, and wobbler traced and ready to cut out for the kids.**

Step 1: Start by explaining that the glue should be put on the plate and not on the tissue paper. Have students cover the plate with colorful tissue squares.

Step 2: Next, cut out the body, feet, beak and wobbler out and build their turkey.

Step 3: Add the big eyes!

1st Grade- Owls

This project can be as simple or as elaborate as you want, Here is the more streamlined version to complete in one art class.

Materials:

  • black construction paper
  • star stickers
  • brown construction paper
  • orange construction paper
  • white construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue sticks

Step 1: Give each student an owl body already traced on white construction paper to cut out.

Step 2: students can rip brown paper and glue onto their owl body. Remind them to cover as much of the white as possible.

Step 3: Students can draw and cut out their beak and legs from orange construction paper and then make their BIG eyes. Glue all pieces on to their owl.

Step 4: With two small brown pieces of paper, have student trace their hands and cut them out for the wings.

Step 5: Once the owl is assembled, glue it to the black paper. Now add the stars!!
