November- Turkeys

Kindergarten & 1st Grade- Big Turkeys

Materials:

  • large watercolor paper
  • black oil pastels
  • colored oil pastels
  • liquid watercolor paint
  • craft feathers
  • white glue
  • small plastic container lid

Here is a 40 minute lesson for the Kinders and 1st graders. Watch the video below to guide you through!

2nd & 3rd Graders- Color Wheel Turkeys

Materials:

  • Turkey tracing templates
  • Turkey Body: Paper Scraps for the turkey body (about one 6″ x 7″ piece per student)
  • Additional construction paper scraps (various colors)
  • Oil pastels
  • Scissors
  • Glue sticks
  • 12″ x 9″ black or white paper for background
  • Color wheel (optional)

4th & 5th Grade- Textured Turkeys

Materials:

  • 9″ x 12″ watercolor paper
  • Pencil
  • Waterproof black marker, fine point
  • Watercolor paints (tray sets are great)
  • Medium and small round brushes

October- Halloween Pumpkins & Monsters

Kindergarten- Pumpkins

It is FALL!! Here is a project to do with Kinders. I have included the step-by-step directions for drawing a pumpkin. After the pumpkins are drawn, all shapes and sizes, students can cut pieces of construction paper to make the face. This will bring personality and make each pumpkin a bit more different!

Materials:

  • Large white construction paper if using tempera paint to color the pumpkin (If students are watercolor painting the pumpkins use large watercolor paper instead.)
  • Half sheet of black construction paper
  • Half sheet of white construction paper
  • Black sharpies
  • Paint (tempera or watercolor)
  • Glue sticks

1st & 2nd Grade- Monsters
